Terms of Use
In short
- Triku is a training tool, not medical advice. Check with a doctor before you start, and stop if something hurts or feels wrong.
- Triku Plus renews automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel it in your phone’s subscription settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. New subscribers get a 14-day free trial once.
- Payment and refunds go through the App Store or Google Play. Deleting your Triku account does not cancel the subscription.
- Plans, AI-written text, strain, readiness and calorie values are estimates and can be wrong. You decide what you do.
- On the bike, keep your eyes on the road and follow the traffic rules. Routes can be wrong or unsafe.
- Your training data stays yours. Belgian law applies, and you keep the protection of your own country’s consumer law.
1. Who we are
Triku is made and operated by BV Froteq, Gasmeterstraat 36, 9100 Sint-Niklaas, Belgium (“Triku”, “we”, “us”). Enterprise number (KBO/BCE): BE 1010.062.697. Email: support@triku.app.
These terms are the agreement between you and BV Froteq when you use the Triku app. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use Triku.
2. The service
Triku helps you train for triathlons and running races. It includes training plans, an AI-assisted coach, analysis of your workouts, Fuel (meal logging and nutrition targets), routes and a bike computer. Some features need Triku Plus (section 4). We keep improving the app, so features can change, be added or be removed over time.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Triku.
3. Your account
- One account per person. The account is personal; do not share it.
- Keep your sign-in secure (your Apple Account, Google account or email), and tell us straight away if you think someone else is using your account.
- Give accurate information where it matters for your training, such as your age and maximum heart rate.
- We may suspend or close an account that is used for abuse, breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. Where reasonable, we tell you first and explain why.
4. Triku Plus subscription
- What it is. Triku Plus is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly (€19.99) or yearly (€199.99), as shown in the app. Prices may vary by country; the price in your currency, including any taxes, is shown in the App Store or Google Play before you buy.
- Free trial. New subscribers get a 14-day free trial, once. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and the first period is charged.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase, or at the end of the free trial. Apple or Google handles the payment; we never see your card details.
- Renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel the subscription in your phone’s subscription settings: on iPhone in your Apple Account settings, on Android in Google Play under Subscriptions. When you cancel, you keep Triku Plus until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds. We do not refund partial periods. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies; ask them through the store where you bought the subscription.
- Price changes. If the price changes, Apple or Google tells you in advance as their rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- On iPhone, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If it conflicts with these terms, these terms apply to the extent Apple’s agreement allows.
5. EU right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. For digital content and services that start straight away, that right can end once the service has started. By starting the subscription, including the free trial, you ask for immediate access to Triku Plus and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has started, to the extent the law allows.
The free trial is there so you can try Triku Plus before you pay. Your rights under the store’s own refund policy, and any rights mandatory law gives you, are not affected.
6. Not medical advice
Triku is a training tool, not a medical device, and it does not give medical advice. Training plans, the coach’s text, strain, readiness, heart-rate zones and calorie and nutrient values are estimates based on the data you give and the data your devices record, and they can be wrong.
- Talk to a doctor before you start training, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant, take medication or have not exercised for a long time.
- Stop and get medical help if you feel pain, dizziness, chest pain, unusual shortness of breath or anything that feels wrong.
- Swimming in open water has its own risks. Swim where it is allowed and supervised, and never alone.
- You decide what you do. Listen to your body before any plan.
7. AI features
Some features, such as the coach chat, meal estimates, activity reviews and the text that explains your plan, are written with the help of OpenAI. AI-written text can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Treat it as a suggestion: you decide whether to follow it, and nothing in your plan changes until you approve it. The AI features are only used with your consent, and you can switch them off in Profile → AI features. What is sent to OpenAI is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Bike computer and routes
- Follow the traffic rules and the instructions of the authorities at all times. They come before anything the app shows.
- Do not handle your phone while riding. Mount it securely and stop safely before you change anything.
- Routes, loops and directions come from map data and routing services and can be wrong, out of date or unsafe: roads close, paths change, and a route may not suit your bike, your skills or the conditions. Check them and use your own judgement.
- You are responsible for your own safety, your equipment and how you ride or run.
9. Your content and data
Your workouts, plans, routes, meals, messages and notes are yours. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display them only to run the service for you, for as long as your account exists. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
10. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- use Triku for anything illegal, or to harass or harm others;
- try to access other people’s accounts or data, or get around the subscription;
- copy, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app or its content, except where the law allows it;
- overload, scrape or disrupt the service, or use automated means to access it;
- use the AI features to produce harmful or unlawful content.
11. Intellectual property
The Triku app, its design, the Academy lessons, illustrations, animations and other content we provide belong to BV Froteq or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own training while these terms apply. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors; other sources are credited in the app where they are used.
12. Liability
- We work hard to keep Triku accurate and available, but we cannot promise it is always free of errors or interruptions.
- To the extent permitted by Belgian law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, such as lost profits, lost data or missed races.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else consumer law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using Triku at any time and delete your account in Profile → Delete account. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription you bought in the App Store or Google Play: cancel it in the store, as described in section 4. We may end or suspend your access as described in section 3. If we ever stop offering Triku, we will tell you in advance where we can.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the app or the law changes. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect, and the effective date at the top is always the date of the current version. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using Triku and cancel your subscription.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. Please contact us first if something goes wrong; most problems are solved quickly that way. You can also turn to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service (Consumentenombudsdienst / Service de Médiation pour le Consommateur), or go to the competent courts.
